SYMBOLS AND SIGNS OF ASTROLOGY: A FUN ROMP

I have practiced astrology since 1972. After my three near-death experiences in 1977, however, I came to view the artform very differently - in an easy, simple, more fluid manner. The real strength of astrology is truly in that simplicity - and that is what I want to share with everyone.

Put your personal charts away for another day, and come prepared to just have fun. Using giant picture symbols, we will look at each sign in the Zodiac, one by one, and discover for ourselves what the ancients meant when, for instance, they called the month of May the time of Taurus the Bull. Surprise! Surprise! In doing this, we will discover that there really aren't 12 signs to the Zodiac, there are 6 - 6 pairs of complements. Each sign has its opposite, the two, the pair, form a powerful axis of energy. Understand that axis and you will better understand your basic instincts and fears.

We will also have an opportunity to look at the elements and basic energy modes of each sign, alongwith the chart itself - the big round - and discover how simple groupings in the chart can reveal powerful traits about yourself (without ever doing an astrological reading).

We will finish with a brief look at energy factors affecting everyone right now - the fabled Uranus opposite Saturn - and what that means.

Intended Outcome:

Everyone has fun, laughs a lot, participates, and laughs some more.
Everyone learns a lot and becomes more tolerant and understanding of those who are different.
Everyone takes another look at themselves and feels better.
Short Bio:

P. M. H. Atwater, L.H.D. is one of the original researchers in the field of near-death studies, having begun her work in 1978. Todate, she has published nine books on her findings and is working on her tenth, and last. Her latest, "The Big Book of Near-Death Experiences," synthesizes the entire field. What few people know is that Dr. Atwater is an experiencer herself, dying three times in three months in 1977 and each time experiencing a near-death state. Before this shift in her life, she was actively involved in her home state of Idaho in metaphysical pursuits. She started Idaho's first non-profit metaphysical corporation called Inner Forum, and was both teaching and experimenting with altered states of consciousness, mysticism, and the incredible world of psychic phenomena - while at the same time building a successful career in business promotions and projects development. She became professional in the fields of numerology, astrology, earth-energy sensing, dehaunting houses, hypnotherapy, past-life regressions, and divination - until she died. After learning how to retrain her body and her mind, she started life over again.

How many hours? How about 7 to 9:30 pm, or, 7 to 9 pm - either one will do.

Setup: I will need two easels, as I will be using large symbolic pictures to illustrate the various characteristics of the zodiac signs.

Astrology, Its Signs and Sojourns

The validity of astrology lies in its many patterns and symbols. Using large posters, the twelve signs of the zodiac are shown to be six pairs of complements, highlighting the positives and negatives of our natures. The cycles of Saturn are explored as a model for understanding the life passages we all grow through. Lecture, demonstarion. Need 6 easels, blackboard.
